In a thrilling display of sportsmanship and talent, Pitam Pura clinched victory in the recently concluded volleyball tournament. The event, organized by the Satguru Durbalnath Sahay Group, was held on August 13th to commemorate Independence Day. The tournament brought together teams from various localities, including Punjabi Bagh, Fitrus Kalv, Bakkarwala, Nihal Vihar, Mangolpuri Q Block, RBC, Camp No. 5, and more.
The climax of the tournament unfolded in the intense showdown between Mangolpuri and Pitampura in the 1st-2nd place match. The competition swung back and forth, with Mangolpuri at times appearing to secure victory, while Pitampura showcased their resilience in a closely contested match. Ultimately, it was Pitampura that emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious Vijayashree trophy.
During the prize distribution ceremony, distinguished guests Mr. Raghuvindra Shokin, respected MLA, and Mr. Kailash Sankhla, former mayor, took the stage to share insights about the sports facilities in their respective areas. The club’s efforts in inviting community leaders were commended, highlighting the importance of such initiatives.
The felicitation ceremony was inaugurated by Mr. Netram Thagela, Chief Patron of the Satguru Durbal Sahay Group and President of the Federation. The event saw the presence of esteemed public representatives, including Mr. Rameshwar Rajoura, President of All India Rahul Brigade, Mr. Jagdish Badsiwal, President of Devnagar Congress Committee, Mr. Rajendra Khitolia, President of SU Club B, and Mr. Ved Prakash, Legal Advisor.
During the felicitation, Mr. Thagela, in collaboration with Mr. Kailash Sankhla, extended accolades and rewards. The winning team received Rs. 5100/- and a trophy, while the runners-up were awarded Rs. 3100/-. The third-place team received Rs. 2100/- as well. Medals were presented to the players by various dignitaries, including Mrs. Monika and Mr. Mandeep Singh. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures such as Mr. Mamraj Badgujar, Shivcharan Badgujar, Rameshwar Rajora, Mr. Babu Lal Baswala, and other patrons.
