Shocking Mumbai Case: Man and Sons Arrested for Alleged Serial Rape and Disturbing Video Uploads
A 40-year-old man, along with his two adult sons, has been arrested in Mumbai for allegedly raping a 32-year-old woman. The victim is the man’s second wife and stepmother to his two sons. The disturbing incident, which occurred over three months, involved the woman being intoxicated and assaulted. Shockingly, two videos of the assaults were found on a pornographic website.
The woman had divorced her first husband in 2010 and married the accused in 2015. They resided in the Cheeta Camp area in Trombay and had two children together, aged 8 and 10. During the COVID-19 lockdown, the man’s two sons from his first marriage, from which he was separated due to domestic violence, moved in with them. The man worked as a driver for a BMC-run garbage vehicle, while his two sons, aged 20 and 22, worked as temporary drivers.
Disputes arose within the family, particularly over property matters, with the addition of the man’s sons. On June 22 of this year, the accused allegedly drugged the woman with a spiked cold drink, rendering her unconscious. He then coerced his sons into consuming alcohol and forcing them to sexually assault his wife. The entire horrific ordeal was recorded on his mobile phone. The woman, unaware of the incident, discovered some of the videos on her husband’s phone. She reported the incident to the police, along with her brother, around 2 am on Friday, resulting in the registration of an FIR against the trio.
Despite their attempt to flee, the police tracked them down in Sion Koliwada using the main accused’s phone’s location. Upon examination of his phone, authorities discovered over 700 pornographic videos, including those involving his wife. During interrogation, the main accused admitted to uploading two videos of his wife’s assault on the website.
The phone will be sent for forensic examination to be used as evidence against the accused in the chargesheet. The police have also notified the BMC about the crime and requested the permanent suspension of the accused’s employment.
The charges against the trio include sections 376 (rape), 376 (n) (repeatedly committing rape on the same woman), 376 (d) (gang rape), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code, along with section 67 (a) (publishing or transmitting material containing sexually explicit acts) of the Information Technology Act.
